Pesach Reflection (by Marga)

Pesach (or Passover) is a story about freedom that every year we transmit from one generation to another. It is about a leader who couldn’t stand watching his people living under slavery.  He was strong enough, powerful and self-confident. So he managed to persuade the slaves to follow him to fight for freedom.

They went through many difficulties, going back and forth, questioning and answering, trying to change their minds to start feeling free. To get their FREEDOM, they had to work hard. Freedom is not only to live free from others, but it has to do with being responsible for yourself and your neighbors and to work against selfishness, vanity and greed. They needed a change of mind, a change of behavior. It was the only way to get freedom as human beings.

That’s why, every year we celebrate PESACH we transmit this story from parents to children reminding them that once we were slaves and in order to be out of that we had to learn to be responsible for ourselves.

If it had not been for a leader prepared to lead people, it would have been very difficult; almost impossible to get.

History shows how people can achieve great goals being led by strong leaders. We could see it in MOSES as a LEADER. But also we could see it in HITLER too, and many other examples we can find throughout history.

In my opinion, we have to be open-minded and pay attention to our own values before making a choice.

With love

  2. Marga, you always write meaningful texts. It's a pleasure to read what you write!

I have to confess that I didn't know what Pesach was! I learned about it through Marga's reflection and some internet search I did on my own to prepare the posts for Passover. This question of leadership, freedom, responsibility... it's really interesting.

BTW, I'd like to let you know that Marga worked a lot for this post. She sent me an email with the text, we edited it, then she chose the images, she copied the images and sent them to me... Thanks Marga for taking the digital challenge and sharing part of yourself through these great lines!

Is was not easy for us to achieve it. We only knew that adolescences know how to work on it easily with pleasures.

That's why we decided to behave like adolescences and will see what will hapen, Until next comment. Marga
